Referral programs attract scammers before they attract users, because "earn money by inviting people" is a sentence fraud can wear beautifully. Kit Pay's referral rewards have not launched — which hands you, for now, a perfectly sharp test.

The fakes to expect

• The activation fee: "pay a small registration to join the referral program." Genuine referral rewards never cost money to enter — a fee to earn is the money-to-get-money outfit and settles the question by itself.
• The fake dashboard: a website showing your "referral earnings" climbing, cashable once you pay a release fee or share your codes. Real rewards would land in your wallet and appear in your history; earnings that live only on someone else's screen are set dressing.
• The agent recruiter: someone offering to "register you as a Kit Pay agent" with referral income for a joining fee. Nobody genuine recruits this way, and joining fees to earn are the tell again.
• The pyramid remix: "invite three people who each pay you, then they invite three..." That is not a referral program — it is a pyramid scheme wearing one's clothes, and it collapses on whoever joins last.

The habits that hold after launch

Once rewards are live, the test sharpens rather than disappears. The program that exists will be the one announced and run inside the Kit Pay app under stated terms — anything arriving by SMS, WhatsApp, or a stranger's link still proves nothing by using the name. Rewards will be earned when an invited person qualifies, never just for signing up, so any offer of instant or guaranteed referral income contradicts the design on its face. And no version of the program will ever need your PIN, password, or codes — support will never ask, and neither will marketing.

Seen a fake? Decline whatever it wants, and if it reached you through Kit Pay chat or a payment request, report it in the app so the pattern gets caught, not just avoided.
