How referral qualification will work
Why Kit Pay referral rewards will hinge on the invited person qualifying — and what that design protects you and them from.
The heart of the coming referral program is a single word: qualifies. A reward is only ever earned after the invited person qualifies — never just for signing up. This article explains what that word is doing, because the design of a reward decides the behaviour it buys.
What signup-rewards get wrong
Pay people for bare signups and you have priced the account itself: strangers get spammed with invite links, throwaway accounts get farmed by the hundred, and the "growth" is a pile of empty registrations that someone eventually monetises another way — often by selling or misusing the accounts. Every user pays for that in noise and fraud pressure. Kit Pay is a payment service; the last thing it should subsidise is the mass creation of accounts nobody intends to use.
What qualification buys instead
- Real people, really using it: qualification means the invited person has genuinely started using Kit Pay — so the reward follows actual adoption, not a completed form.
- Invitations aimed at people you know: when the reward depends on the invitee actually engaging, spraying links at strangers stops paying. The rational move becomes inviting your customers, your family, your savings group.
- Nothing to farm: an account created only to trigger a reward never qualifies, so the throwaway-account economy has nothing to eat.
What this means for you on launch day
Read the terms in the app before you invite — they will state plainly what qualifies and what the reward is. Expect the reward to arrive after your invitee's qualifying activity, not the moment they register, and expect the app itself to be the record of where each invitation stands. If a reward appears in your wallet, it will be there in your history like any other entry — and anyone claiming they can make qualification happen faster for a fee is running the oldest trick in the book: see referral safety.
Frequently asked questions
Will I be able to see whether someone I invited has qualified?
The app will be the place that shows where your invitations stand once the program launches. What it will never show you is the private detail of another person's account — an invitee's activity is their business; your reward status is yours.
Can I speed up qualification by sending my invitee money myself?
The terms in the app will define what qualifies. Moving your own money in circles to manufacture a reward is exactly the pattern anti-abuse design exists to catch — build nothing on it.
