Request account deletion
Open Profile → Delete account in the Kit Pay app. The app asks for a one-time, account-specific authorization before accepting the request. Deletion is an account action, so it is requested only from your signed-in account, where the request is securely tied to you.
If you cannot sign in, first regain access to your account — account recovery explains what to expect — and then request deletion in the app. There is no email, phone, or web channel for account actions: a request made outside your authenticated app cannot be verified as yours.
Never send a password, wallet PIN, SMS code, authenticator code, recovery code, or identity document to anyone by email or chat. No genuine Kit Pay process collects them that way.
What happens after acceptance
- The account enters deletion processing and can no longer sign in or initiate activity.
- Kit Pay revokes all sessions, trusted devices and push tokens, and stops future payment instructions that have not begun processing.
- Eligible service data is deleted or de-identified. Provider and backup copies expire through their controlled deletion schedules.
- Kit Pay keeps only records that have a documented financial, fraud-prevention, dispute, security or legal-retention basis. Those records are access-restricted and are not used to continue providing a closed account.
A wallet balance, an operation still being reconciled, an open dispute, or active merchant ownership may require an assisted closure step. You can still submit the deletion request in the app, and the app and its Help area explain the required resolution from your signed-in account.
Data deleted or de-identified
- Profile, contact-book and optional preference data
- Active sessions, refresh credentials, trusted-device state and push tokens
- Eligible media, AI insight and communications data held only to provide the service
Data that may be retained
- Ledger, transaction, settlement and reconciliation records required for financial recordkeeping
- KYC, sanctions, fraud, dispute and security evidence required by law or legitimate claims
- Restricted audit evidence needed to prove account closure and prevent abuse
Retention lasts only for the applicable legal, reconciliation, dispute, security, backup or audit period. When that period ends, the data is deleted, anonymised, or made inaccessible in ordinary systems. See the Kit Pay privacy policy for the governing terms; for a request-specific explanation, ask through Help in the app from your signed-in account.
