Getting started
A quick tour of the Kit Pay app
Find your way around Kit Pay: where your wallet, conversations, insights, and settings live, and why some areas appear gradually.
Kit Pay is organised around two things you do every day — moving money and talking to people — with everything else supporting them. Here is the lay of the land, so the first week feels familiar instead of foreign.
Your wallet
The wallet area shows your balance in Ugandan shillings and your full history: money in, money out, requests waiting for a decision, and payments you have set for later. Every entry is a ledger record, added rather than edited, so what you see here is the truth of the account. Understanding your wallet goes deeper.
Conversations
Chats live beside your wallet. Kit Pay conversations are built for end-to-end encryption, and chat activates per device as that rollout completes — so you may see it before a friend does, or the other way round. When a conversation is active, payments you make to that person appear right inside it. Chat on Kit Pay explains the rollout honestly.
Insights
Insights is where budgets, categories, and clearly labelled AI-assisted summaries of your own spending appear as they roll out. Insights read your history to describe it — they can never move money. If you do not see Insights yet, your account simply has not reached that stage of the rollout.
Settings and Help
Settings holds your profile, security controls — PIN change, biometric unlock, active sessions — and notification choices. Help, inside the same area, is where support happens: it is the only channel for account-specific questions, because a signed-in session securely establishes which account is asking. The public support page explains how that works.
Why your app may differ from a friend's
Kit Pay switches features on in stages, and the app only ever shows what your account can use right now. Two phones side by side can legitimately look different for a while. The homepage keeps an honest summary of what is available, what is rolling out, and what is still on the way.
Frequently asked questions
Why can a friend see a feature I do not have?
Features roll out in stages, and some activate per device. The app shows only what your account can use, so differences during a rollout are normal.
Where do I find support in the app?
Open Help from the settings area while signed in. Account-specific support happens only there, never through this website.
