Scheduled payments
Set a payment to run later: how scheduling works, the approval you give up front, and cancelling before it runs.
A scheduled payment is a decision made once, executed later: you set the person, the amount, and the day, and Kit Pay runs it when the day comes. Rent due on the first, a promised contribution, money that should arrive while you are travelling — schedule it while you are thinking about it, and stop carrying it in your head.
The approval happens up front
Creating the schedule is the sensitive action. You review the details and approve them with your wallet PIN or supported device security — approval tied to exactly this plan. When the day arrives, Kit Pay executes what you already approved; the app does not wake you to approve it a second time. That is the design: the whole point of scheduling is that the future payment no longer needs you present.
Between now and the day it runs
- The plan is visible in your app, so nothing about your future is hiding from your present.
- Your balance is untouched until execution — how your balance works explains why a plan is not an event.
- You can cancel a scheduled payment any time before it runs. Cancelled means it simply never happens.
- Make sure the money will be there on the day; a plan cannot send what the wallet does not hold.
Changed your mind about the details?
A scheduled payment is cancel-and-recreate, not edit-in-place: cancel the plan that no longer matches reality, then schedule the right one. It is a deliberate shape — every future payment that will run is one you explicitly approved in full, never one quietly mutated after approval.
For money that should move on a rhythm rather than once — weekly, monthly, every term — a repeating payment is the better tool, with pause and resume built in.
Frequently asked questions
Will I be asked to approve again when the payment runs?
No. Your approval at creation covers the plan, and Kit Pay executes it as approved. Cancel before it runs if you no longer want it.
Can I change the amount or date on an existing scheduled payment?
Cancel it and schedule the correct one. Plans run exactly as approved, so changes always go through a fresh, fully-reviewed approval.
