Payment links

A payment link is a request you can put anywhere text can go. Share it in any app or message, and an eligible Kit Pay user who opens it lands on a ready-to-pay screen with the details already filled in — they review and approve in their own app, like any other payment.

Links versus direct requests

A payment request goes to one chosen person inside Kit Pay. A link goes wherever you paste it — which makes it the tool for moments when you cannot pick the payer from a list: a customer you just met, a group organising a contribution, a poster for your stall. The trade-off is exactly that openness, so treat a link like a signpost to your wallet: put it where the right people are.

What the payer experiences

1. They tap your link and it opens into Kit Pay.
2. A payment screen appears with the details filled in for review — who is being paid, and what.
3. They approve with their wallet PIN or supported device security, tied to that payment, and both sides get the ledger record.

The review screen matters as much here as anywhere: a link fills in details, but it never skips the payer's own reading and approval. Nothing about a link can take money on its own.

Staying safe with links — both directions

• Paying: open payment links only from people and businesses you are actually dealing with, and read the screen before approving. The screen, not the message around the link, is the truth.
• Collecting: share your link through channels you control, and glance at your history to reconcile what arrives against what you expected.
• Everyone: a link that leads anywhere other than a Kit Pay payment screen asking for codes, PINs, or sign-ins is a phishing page wearing a costume. Close it and report it.
