Payment links for business
Using Kit Pay payment links to get paid remotely: a link into your wallet, an optional fixed amount, and your off switch.
QR codes serve the counter; payment links serve everywhere else — the WhatsApp order, the delivery on the way, the customer who said "send me the details". For a business, a link is a payment request that travels: the customer opens it in Kit Pay, sees a ready-to-pay screen with the details filled in for review, and approves in their own app.
What you control when creating a link
- Where the money lands — a link points at a wallet you choose, and for business takings that should be your business wallet, so links and counter payments settle into the same records.
- The amount — fix it for a specific order, or leave it open where the customer fills it in.
- A note — say what the payment is for, so the customer's review screen and both histories carry the context.
- How long it lives — links can carry a use limit and an expiry, and you can disable a link at any time. A disabled link simply stops working; nothing already paid is affected.
A working pattern for orders
- Agree the order and total in conversation, wherever that conversation happens.
- Create the link for that amount with a note naming the order, and send it.
- The customer opens it in their Kit Pay app, reviews the details, and approves — the approval is theirs, in their app, tied to that payment.
- Confirm in your own records before dispatching. As at the counter: your records, not their screenshot.
Frequently asked questions
Can a customer without Kit Pay pay my link?
A link opens a ready-to-pay screen for eligible Kit Pay users in their app. For customers outside Kit Pay, the link is an invitation to get the app — it is not a card-payment page.
Should I reuse one open link for all my customers?
You can, within the limits you set — but per-order links with a fixed amount and a note give you cleaner records and give customers a clearer thing to approve. Reserve a long-lived open link for situations you actively monitor.
