Approve or decline a payment request

A request landed in your app — how to read it, when to approve, when to decline, and why declining is always allowed.

Someone has asked you for money through Kit Pay. The request sits in your app with their name, the amount, and their note — and the decision is entirely yours. Nothing moves until you approve it, and approving is a full sensitive action: reviewed by you, confirmed with your wallet PIN or supported device security, tied to that exact payment.

Reading a request properly

  1. Check who it is from. The name shown belongs to the account that sent it — not to whoever a message claims sent it.
  2. Check the amount against what you actually agreed or owe.
  3. Read the note. A legitimate request explains itself; a vague one deserves a question before a shilling.
  4. Then approve or decline — or ask the sender about it first, outside the payment screen.

When to decline without guilt

  • You do not recognise the sender or the debt. Unexpected requests are declined first and investigated second.
  • The amount is wrong. Decline and ask them to resend correctly — a fresh request costs nothing.
  • The story around it smells of pressure: a prize, a refund, an official fee that arrived as a personal request.

Declining is not rude; it is the system working. The sender simply sees the decision, and a genuine sender will resend or discuss. Anyone who reacts to a decline with urgency and threats has told you what they were.

After you decide

Approve, and it becomes a normal transfer: money moves from your wallet to theirs, recorded in both histories with the request behind it. Decline, and nothing moves — the request closes and your wallet never noticed. Either way the outcome is visible to both sides, which keeps the human relationship honest too. If a request was part of something fraudulent, report it from inside the app so the pattern is on record.

Frequently asked questions

Can approving a request expose my balance or history to the sender?

No. They see the decision and, if approved, the payment — nothing about your wallet beyond what you sent.

I approved a request I now regret. Can it be undone?

An approved request is a completed transfer of real money. Read payment problems for the honest options, and treat pressure to approve quickly as tomorrow's lesson.
