Voice and video calls

Calling other Kit Pay users over the internet, with optional screen sharing during a call — switching on in stages.

Kit Pay is adding calls: voice and video with other Kit Pay users, carried over the internet rather than airtime minutes, with optional screen sharing during a call. Like chat, calls are switching on in stages — the app announces them when they reach your account.

What calls add

  • Voice calls to other Kit Pay users over your data connection or Wi-Fi.
  • Video when a look matters more than a description.
  • Optional screen sharing during a call — show the thing instead of narrating it, and stop sharing whenever you choose.

Calls live alongside chat, so the people you talk to are the people you pay — one contact, every way of reaching them. Internet calling also means the usual physics: quality follows your connection, and data is consumed while you talk.

Calls and your money

A call changes none of the money rules. Nothing said on a call moves money; sensitive money actions still require approval tied to what you are doing, using your wallet PIN or supported device security, on your own screen. Be especially wary of the classic remote-help scam — a caller who asks you to share your screen while you open your wallet, type your PIN, or read a one-time code. Screen sharing shows everything on your screen. Never share it while anything sensitive is visible, and treat anyone directing you around your own money app as a scam in progress. Kit Pay support does not call you, and it never directs you by screen share — help lives in the app's Help area, in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Do Kit Pay calls use my airtime minutes?

Calls travel over the internet, so they use your data connection or Wi-Fi rather than voice minutes. Your network's data pricing applies as usual.

Can I call someone who is not on Kit Pay?

No — calls connect Kit Pay users to each other inside the app. For everyone else, your phone's ordinary dialler is unchanged.
