Getting started
Verify your phone number
Why Kit Pay confirms your number with a one-time SMS code, and what to do when the code does not arrive.
When you create a Kit Pay account or sign in on a new device, the app sends a one-time code by SMS to the number you entered. Typing that code back proves the SIM is in your hands. It is a small step that does a lot of work: it stops strangers from opening an account in your name and stops a typo from attaching your money to somebody else's number.
Getting the code to arrive
- Make sure the SIM for the number you entered is in the phone you are holding, and that it has network signal.
- Check the number you typed, digit by digit. The most common failure is a correct code sent to a slightly wrong number.
- Give it a moment. SMS delivery can lag on a congested network, especially away from town.
- If your phone has two SIM slots, confirm the right SIM is active for messages.
If the code still does not arrive, request a fresh one from the same screen rather than guessing. Codes expire quickly, so use the most recent one.
Treat the code like cash
A verification code is proof of control over your number. Never read it out to anyone — not to a caller claiming to be Kit Pay, not to a friend, not to someone who says they sent money to you by mistake. Genuine Kit Pay staff never ask for codes. The moment someone asks, you are looking at a scam; one-time codes explained shows how these tricks work.
Changed numbers?
If you no longer control the number on your account — the SIM was lost, or you switched providers — do not create a second account. Read switching to a new phone and account recovery so your history and balance stay with you.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the SMS take?
Usually moments, but a busy network can delay it. Wait briefly, then request a new code from the same screen if needed.
Someone called asking for my code. What now?
Hang up — it is a scam. Kit Pay never asks for codes. If you already shared one, review your sessions and change your PIN in the app right away.
