Switch to a new phone

Phones change; your money should not notice. Your wallet, history, and account live on Kit Pay's servers, not inside one handset — so moving to a new phone is about proving you are still you, then tidying up the old device.

Same number, new phone

1. Put your SIM in the new phone, or make sure the number is active on it.
2. Install the official Kit Pay app — check how to get the app so you are not sideloading a fake.
3. Sign in with your phone number and confirm the one-time code the app sends you.
4. Approve any security checks the app asks for. They exist precisely for moments like this.
5. Open Settings and review your active sessions. Sign out anything you no longer hold, especially the old phone if it is leaving your hands.

Wipe the old phone before selling or giving it away. Signing out is good; a factory reset is better, because it also clears everything outside Kit Pay.

New number

Your number is how people find you on Kit Pay and where SMS security codes go, so changing it is a bigger event than changing hardware. Keep the old SIM active until the move is complete, follow the in-app flow while you still control both numbers, and never let a new account swallow the history that belongs to your real one. Kit Pay chat is built for end-to-end encryption, and encryption keys belong to devices.
