Group payments: what is coming

Ugandan money is often group money: a wedding committee, a burial contribution, a rotating savings circle, workmates thanking a departing colleague. Kit Pay is building group conversations with payments to match — including one payment that pays several people in the same group, each member receiving their own share.

The shape being built

• Group conversations, so the people and the plan live in one place.
• A payment addressed to several members at once, split into shares.
• Each share delivered on the member's own terms: held for them to accept where their app supports group claims, settled straight into their wallet where it does not.

How a share arrives is the interesting part, and it is deliberately conditional. Where a member's app supports group claims, their share waits for them — accept it and it is theirs, decline it and it is not, and a share left unclaimed is treated carefully rather than dissolving into confusion, the same fail-safe instinct behind transfers you accept. Where a member's app is older and cannot show a group claim, the design refuses to strand their money behind a screen they do not have: that share settles straight into their wallet instead. Either way the movement is recorded on the double-entry ledger on both sides.

What stays true

Group payments will follow the same law as every Kit Pay payment: creating one is a sensitive action requiring your approval, tied to what you are doing, using your wallet PIN or supported device security, and every movement lands in both histories as a ledger record. Groups change who is in the room, not how carefully money moves.
