Getting started

App updates and versions

Why keeping Kit Pay updated matters, where safe updates come from, and why features can appear before or after an update.

An out-of-date payment app is like a door with an old lock: it still opens, but it protects you a little less each month. Updates carry security fixes, honesty fixes, and the groundwork for features that are still switching on — keeping Kit Pay current is part of keeping your money safe.

Where updates come from

Only ever update Kit Pay from the official store on your platform. Never install an update from a link someone sends you, a website, a flash drive, or a downloads folder someone shared — that is exactly how fake apps travel. Spot a fake Kit Pay app lists the official package identifiers so you can check what you are running, and the get-the-app page states honestly where the app is available right now.

Updates and features are not the same thing

Installing the newest version does not necessarily unlock every feature you have read about, and that is deliberate. Kit Pay ships capability in stages: your app asks the server what your account can use, and shows exactly that. Chat activating per device, insights arriving gradually, new money rails opening only after their live checks pass — all of these can trail or lead an app update. If a feature has not reached you, there is nothing to fix and nothing to sideload; it will announce itself in the app when it is ready.

If the app misbehaves after an update

  • Close and reopen the app, and make sure your connection is steady.
  • Check that your phone's date and time are set automatically — security checks dislike clocks that drift.
  • Restart the phone. Old processes sometimes linger after an update.
  • Still stuck? Open Help inside the app and describe what you see — that is the support channel, and it knows which version you are on.

During maintenance windows, some actions may pause briefly and resume on their own; service status and maintenance explains how Kit Pay behaves while that happens.

Frequently asked questions

I updated, but a feature I read about is missing. Why?

Features switch on per account and sometimes per device, separately from app releases. The app shows what your account can use; nothing is wrong.

Is it safe to install Kit Pay from an APK a friend shared?

No. Install and update only from the official store listed on the get-the-app page, and check the package identifiers if unsure.
