Kit Pay · Built for Uganda

Money that moves at the speed of a message.

Kit Pay is a wallet and messaging app from Kit Africa. Send money to the people you talk to, request what you're owed, and keep every shilling accounted for — in one place.

Kit is not a financial institution. Payment services are provided through RukaPay.

Sending and requesting money works today; in-app chat is rolling out in stages. See exactly what's live.

What you can do in Kit Pay right now

Kit-to-Kit transfers

Send money to another Kit Pay user — reviewed and confirmed before it moves, then recorded on a double-entry ledger.

Payment requests

Ask for the exact amount you are owed. The other person reviews and approves the request in their own app before anything is paid.

Payment links

Share a link that opens a ready-to-pay screen for eligible Kit Pay users, with the details filled in for review.

Scheduled and repeat payments

Set a payment for later, or a plan that repeats. Cancel a scheduled payment before it runs; pause, resume, or cancel a repeating plan whenever you like.

Business and merchant tools

A business wallet, a confirmed merchant account, signed payment QR codes and split settlement for counters and market stalls.

QR payments

Scan to pay, or show a QR code to be paid. Amount-bound codes lock the payment to what you agreed.

Honest by default

Arriving in stages

We switch features on when they are tested and properly connected — not before. Here is exactly where things stand.

Rolling out

  • Private chat. Conversations built for end-to-end encryption, with payments that appear right inside the chat. Chat activates per device as the encryption rollout completes.
  • Voice and video calls. Call other Kit Pay users over the internet, with optional screen sharing during a call. Calls are switching on in stages.
  • Spending insights. Budgets, categories and clearly labelled AI-assisted summaries of your own spending. Insights can never move money.

Coming soon

  • Identity verification. A guided in-app verification step that prepares accounts for regulated payment services before they switch on.
  • Groups and group payments. Group conversations, and one payment that pays several people in the same group, each receiving their own share.
  • Transfers you accept. Money that waits for the recipient to accept it, so a wrong number does not become a lost payment.
  • Mobile money. Move money between your wallet and MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money. Each rail opens only after its live provider checks pass end to end.
  • Bank deposits. Top up from a Ugandan bank with a personal deposit reference and verified proof, matched to your wallet automatically.
  • Bank transfers. Send from your wallet to Ugandan bank accounts, with the receiving account validated before you confirm.
  • Airtime and bills. Buy airtime and pay everyday bills from your wallet, with the final charge shown before you confirm.
  • Referrals. Invite people you trust. When referral rewards launch, a reward is only ever earned after the invited person qualifies — never just for signing up.
  • In-app support requests. A support inbox inside the app, tied to your verified session, with clearly labelled AI-assisted answers that hand over to people.

Getting started

Three steps to your first payment

  1. Get the app

Kit Pay accounts are created in the mobile app — there is no web signup. See where to get it.

  2. Register with your phone number

Confirm the code we send you, then set the wallet PIN you'll use to approve payments.

  3. Send, request, and track

Pay people on Kit, request what you're owed, and see every movement in your wallet history.

Security

Built to fail safe

A ledger, not a guess

Every movement of money is recorded on Kit's server-side ledger. Your balance is what the ledger says — it can't be edited from a phone.

Approval tied to intent

Sensitive money actions require approval tied to what you are doing, using your wallet PIN or supported device security. Kit Pay staff never ask for your PIN.

Sessions you control

Review the devices signed in to your account and revoke any session you don't recognise, right from Security in the app.

Report abuse in-app

Reporting tools are built into the app, so you can flag suspicious behaviour where it happens.

Kit is not a financial institution. Payment services are provided through RukaPay.

For your hustle

Run your business on Kit Pay

Take payments at the counter with your QR code, share payment links with customers, and send payment requests that are settled in chat-simple taps.
